1. Who we are

EventCentral ("EventCentral", "we", "us", "our") is a global directory for academic, professional and community events. The site is owned and operated by Solutioned Limited, and is regulated in the United Kingdom. Throughout these terms, "the site" means eventcentral.me and any associated pages and services we provide.

2. Accepting these terms

By visiting the site, creating an account, listing an event or subscribing to alerts, you agree to these terms. If you are using EventCentral on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf. If you do not agree with any part of them, please don't use the site.

3. Your account

Some features - such as listing events, saving favourites or managing alerts - require an account. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in through a third-party provider such as Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn or Facebook. When you sign in with a provider, we receive basic profile details (typically your name and email address) to create or match your account; we explain this further in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Listing an event

Listing an event on EventCentral is free. When you submit an event you confirm that the details are accurate, that you are entitled to publish them, and that the listing does not infringe anyone else's rights.

To keep the directory useful and trustworthy, we reserve the right to:

• decline to publish a listing, or remove one, at our discretion;
• edit listings - including titles, descriptions, categories and images - for clarity, accuracy or to help an event reach the right audience;
• change the criteria we use for accepting listings as the service evolves.

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt for formatting, and promote that content as part of running and marketing the directory.

5. Event standards

By listing an event you confirm it is run in an ethical, professional and non-predatory way. In particular:

• the event genuinely contributes to the academic, professional or cultural field it claims to, and to networking among those who work in it;
• names of speakers, committee members or other people are only listed with their consent;
• information about the event is truthful and not misleading;
• there is a clear refund policy, and where an event is cancelled, attendees are refunded in line with it;
• a working contact email or form is provided, and enquiries are answered within a reasonable time;
• where papers are presented, any review process is academically and professionally sound;
• you do not use the EventCentral name or branding in a way that implies a partnership or endorsement we have not given.

6. Acceptable use

When using EventCentral, please don't:

• break any applicable law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
• post content that is false, defamatory, harassing, obscene or otherwise harmful;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection to one;
• upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, or interfere with its operation;
• scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data from the site without our written permission, or use automated systems in a way that places unreasonable load on it.

7. Email alerts

EventCentral offers email alerts so you can hear about events that match your interests. We send these using our email provider and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any alert, or by emailing us. We make every effort to send alerts promptly, but we may batch or schedule sends as needed, and we don't guarantee delivery times - email delivery also depends on your own provider and spam filtering.

8. Paid placements

Most of EventCentral is free. From time to time we may offer optional paid placements - for example promoted listings or banner advertising - to give an event extra visibility. Where you buy a paid placement:

• payment is handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card details ourselves;
• we activate the placement after payment is confirmed, and we'll tell you if we can't deliver it for any reason;
• if we can't deliver a paid placement, we will refund it. For other refund requests, contact us within 30 days of purchase with your order details and reason, and we'll review it. Once a placement has gone live, it is treated as delivered.

9. Intellectual property

The EventCentral name, logo, design, code and the way the directory is compiled and presented belong to Solutioned Limited and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse them without our permission. Non-personal, aggregated statistics we compile about how the site is used remain ours.

10. Third-party events and links

EventCentral is a directory: with very few exceptions, we are not the organiser of the events we list. Listings are provided by organisers and other sources, and may contain errors or change without notice.
